Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 July 2026 · Last updated: 24 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how LifeMaxxing (“LifeMaxxing”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the LifeMaxxing mobile application, related websites, and online services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. For a concise store-disclosure summary, see our Data Collection Summary. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
LifeMaxxing is the controller of personal information processed in connection with the Service. For privacy requests and questions, contact us at hello@lifemaxxing.com.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to personal information we process about users of the Service, visitors to our websites, and individuals who contact us. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not control, even if linked from the Service.
3. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories:
3.1 Account and profile information
- Display name, username, email address, and authentication identifiers provided by Apple, Google, or email-based sign-in.
- Profile details you choose to provide, such as biography text, avatar image, and a location label.
3.2 Experience and user-generated content
- Experience records you create, including activity type, place or map pin, date and time, notes, ratings, tags, comments, and visibility settings.
- Media you upload in connection with experiences or your profile, including photographs and, where the feature is available, video.
3.3 Location information
- Geographic coordinates and place information that you attach when logging an experience.
- Map viewport and nearby-search context while you use map features.
- Any home-zone or similar preference you elect to set for personalisation of discovery features.
Location data is collected only as needed to operate location-anchored features you choose to use. You may deny or withdraw device location permissions through your device settings; certain map and logging features may then be limited or unavailable.
3.4 Device, usage, and technical information
- App interaction events, feature usage, and diagnostic information reasonably required to operate and secure the Service.
- Device and operating-system class, app version, push-notification token (if notifications are enabled), crash and performance diagnostics, and Internet Protocol (IP) address as processed by our infrastructure providers.
3.5 Safety and moderation information
- Reports, blocks, mutes, and related moderation metadata necessary to enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines and to protect users.
3.6 Communications
- Messages you send to us, including support requests and account-deletion requests.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including feeds, profiles, maps, search, places, follows, and notifications.
- Display your content in accordance with the visibility settings you select (for example, public, followers, or private).
- Authenticate users, protect accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce rate limits, and secure the Service.
- Send transactional and service notices (such as security, account, or interaction notices you have enabled).
- Respond to support requests and process account, privacy, and deletion requests.
- Comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Analyse aggregated or de-identified usage to improve reliability and product quality.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Legal bases (where required)
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis (including the GDPR and equivalent regimes), we process personal information on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable Service; your consent where required (including certain location or notification permissions); and compliance with legal obligations.
6. How we share information
We may disclose personal information only as follows:
- Other users, according to your visibility settings and ordinary social features (for example, follows, likes, and comments).
- Service providers that process information on our behalf, such as hosting, authentication, databases, media storage, maps and places, push delivery, analytics, and crash diagnostics, under contractual confidentiality and processing obligations.
- Legal and safety disclosures, where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of LifeMaxxing, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not permit service providers to use personal information for their own unrelated marketing purposes.
7. Location privacy controls
- Access to private experiences is enforced through server-side access controls.
- Exact coordinates of private experiences are not displayed to other users on ordinary feed surfaces; display or fuzzed coordinates may be used where appropriate for product functionality.
- Home-zone preferences are not published as a public profile field for other users.
8. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active and as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we begin deletion of account content as described on our Account Deletion page. Limited information may be retained where required by law, for security and fraud prevention, or in anonymised or aggregated form that no longer identifies you.
9. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account.
10. International transfers
We may process and store information on servers located outside your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers recognised under applicable law.
11. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also manage notification and location permissions in your device settings.
To exercise privacy rights, email hello@lifemaxxing.com. To delete your account, use in-app Settings or follow the instructions on our Account Deletion page. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
12. Cookies and similar technologies
Our websites may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for operation or that help us understand site performance. The mobile application may process diagnostics and analytics required to operate and improve the Service. We do not use LifeMaxxing account or experience data for cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking for third parties. Additional detail appears in our Data Collection Summary.
13. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 years of age (or a higher age if required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy, except where applicable law requires a different standard.
